First appearing in 1998, the ARC’TERYX Alpha SV Jacket has always been at the forefront of its category addressing the needs of alpinist and expedition climbers with the lightest weight, most durable weather protection – the ultimate hardshell for those seeking the pinnacle in performance products. Honored with the Ispo Award 2016/2017!
New for Fall 2016, the Alpha SV Jacket once again takes the center stage with a complete redesign and textile upgrade, featuring the new N100p-X face fabric laminated to durably waterproof / breathable 3L GORE-TEX® Pro and the new RS™ Zipper Slider, an exclusive ARC’TERYX self-sealing zipper technology that eliminates the need for bulky zipper covers.
“The new N100p-X face fabric achieves the best results of any face fabric we’ve ever tested from W.L. Gore and Associates,” said Greg Grenzke ARC’TERYX Apparel Designer. “It provides nearly twice the abrasion resistance of the already bombproof N80p-X face fabric that we previously used in the Alpha SV Jacket.”
The jacket, now twice as durable as its award-winning predecessor, is also lighter weight overall having been optimized with an updated design, materials and construction.
“The weight reduction was achieved by minimising the seam allowances and using smaller 8mm seam tape, plus the application of the new RS™ Zipper Sliders which further eliminates weight and streamlines the overall aesthetic of the jacket. The result is a jacket that is the lightest, most durable in its class,” Grenzke added.
Built for alpinists and expedition climbers seeking the highest level of protection and performance in a hardshell, the new Alpha SV Jacket is a shining example of ARC’TERYX design talent, carefully selected materials and innovative construction all coming together in one garment.
